About One Voice

OneVoice South Africa (OVSA) is a vibrant non-governmental organisation, which uses innovative and creative ways of actively engaging young people at High School and TVET College on Life Skills and Enterprise Development. Our team is passionate about partnering with young people, 13-35 years, from diverse cultural backgrounds, and often, vulnerable settings – as they transition out of childhood, through adolescence and into adulthood.

We support young people, especially girls and young women, to finish their education, transition to the World of Work and future skills, address poverty, and become financially independent – while concurrently making healthy lifestyle choices. We do this through the provision of accredited and non-accredited Training, Health Education and Psycho-Social Support.

Our programme is appealing to young people, as it provides a realistic and safe platform from which to discuss and address the many critical health and lifestyle issues, they face daily, including HIV/AIDS, TB, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Gender, Teenage Pregnancy, WASH, Good Citizenship and Human Rights, Financial Literacy, Youth Unemployment and Nation building, Career Planning and Workplace Preparedness.

OVSA implements a SCHOOL PROGRAMME with some 5000 High School learners in schools across KwaZulu-Natal (eThekwini, iLembe, and King Cetshwayo Districts). This includes the Grade 8 Life Skills Project, the Grade 10 Life Skills Project, and the Enterprise Project (Career Pathing and Entrepreneurship) with Grade 9 and 11 learners. With our partners, OVSA also supports especially young women at TVET Colleges across South Africa – helping them to improve their employability, have a better understanding of the workplace environment, employer expectations, and their rights, and transition smoothly into the workspace.

Young South Africans are brave and inspiring. They bring boundless energy, passion and fresh Ideas to the table, and their commitment to advocating for change is critical to building today and a healthy tomorrow.
